Applications Developer – Perm – Buffalo

JOB PURPOSE:
This position is primarily accountable for implementation and ongoing support of our business application systems. The primary focus of this position will be development and support related to a cylinder tracking system that is being rolled out globally. The cylinder tracking system has both handheld device and web based components.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical support for maintenance and enhancements for small to medium complexity projects.
Provides ongoing support of existing and new applications.
Assists in installing and supporting upgrades to third party applications.
Evaluates, recommends and implements systems modifications to reduce user problems.
Working with team members and vendor consultants – develops, tests and deploys business applications.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years experience with building web-based applications and web services is required.
3-5 years experience with Object-oriented programming fundamentals is required.
3-5 years experience in C# and ASP.Net development is required.
1-3 years experience developing stored procedures/functions in SQL Server is required.
1-3 years experience in supporting applications and third party software packages preferred.
1-3 years experience with Mobile device development (Windows Mobile, CF.NET) preferred.
1-3 years experience in HTML/CSS/AJAX preferred.
1-3 years experience in XML/XSD/XSLT preferred.
1-3 years experience with SCM version control preferred.
1-3 years experience with common OO design patterns preferred.
1-3 years experience with Test-Driven development preferred.
1-3 years experience in Agile environments preferred.
Good communication skills required.
Position may require some project-related travel.
