The Lead Network Engineer designs, supports, installs and maintains the technical infrastructure. Provide Oversight and proactive monitoring of the systems, network and data security are part of the daily tasks. Ensure systems uptime and assume a lead role with other network engineers and various IT staff. Review current systems and capacity to recommend future technologies or procedures. This position requires senior level skills in networking (Cisco Meraki layer 2/layer 3 routing, vlans, firewall and traffic shaping, switching, access point management) and systems (virtual machines using Xen, VMware and Nutanix hypervisors, Windows/AD, group policies). Must be well versed with break/fix and troubleshooting in a large network (12 remote locations, each with their own networks and systems).
Install, configure, maintain network services, equipment and devices.
Supports administration of servers, networks, desktops and technical systems.
Plan, document, implement and test Disaster Recovery Procedures.
Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure.
Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems. Including Microsoft Server, Linux base systems including Debian and CENTOS.
Documents network and systems.
Design and Implement technologies to support company initiatives.
Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning to ensure system uptime.
Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam.
Oversee software and network security.
Mentor and train other Network Personnel and personnel on technical systems and matters.
Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting needed.
Technical Skills and Requirements Certifications: MCSE, helpful
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or similar experience.
Systems/Software: Windows Server, Linux, Red Hat, CENTOS or Debian, Microsoft SQL, Active Directory, MySQL, Amazon Cloud and other systems.
Networking: Mareki switches/router/access points or equivalent, Cabling Infrastructure, Firewalls, LAN/ WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Broadview VoIP, IOS
