It seems like every time I look on LinkedIn, it is slowly turning more and more like Facebook with useless posts, unprofessional profile pictures, and nonsense articles floating around.
The whole thought behind LinkedIn is that is is a professional social network. Every post you put on LinkedIn, you should think: “would this be okay to send to my manager?” If you think it wouldn’t be, it should not be posted on LinkedIn.
I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks the posts, like the one pictured below, are not appropriate for LinkedIn:
Though I agree that the post is true, I think that on LinkedIn, it seems like a waste of space. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has gotten annoyed with the posts that ask “How Many Squares Are In This Picture?” Or the “Eye Test”
Something to remember when “Liking” a post on LinkedIn; when you like something, it means that everyone in your network is going to see it. It will show up on everyone’s timeline. Is what you’re liking appropriate and professional? Would it be okay if you sent it to your manager? Would it be wasting his or her time?
